BIT.TRIP CORE, game number two in Gaijin Games’ series of slick retro-yet-modern rhythm games, makes me glad I hooked up my Wii again last week. This is what the inside of Phil‘s head must look like. Coming out “Summer 2009.” (Hey, that’s this summer!)

Check out the first BIT.TRIP game, BEAT, if you haven’t yet.

(Thanks Offworld!)

The low-poly background stuff is awesome. Makes me all inspired.

I really like their colorful minimalistic presentation. Too bad I don’t own a Wii…

yeah i really hope they get this on PC!!!!!!! its pretty sweet

I recognize that chiptune at the end. Is it Bubblyfish? YMCK?

am i the only one who seems to think that this game looks really difficult?

  • Edmund

its difficulty is actually one of its biggest selling points

  • Quazi

i wasnt complaining about it, i was just saying it seems really difficult to predict where pieces will land first, unless theres something im missing.

its rather odd how this game seems really hard, and its counterpart seems incredibly easy

  • Edmund

heh :) i wasn’t saying you were complaining, i was just stating that they really do make a point to push the difficulty up very high in their bit trip games.

I got to play test both of them, in a lot of ways Core seems to be easier, but i had less time with Core then Beat so i wont be totally sure till Core comes out.

that said i wasn’t ever able to finish level 2 in Beat no matter how hard i tried :).
