Knytt Online World: Sneak Peak

A Knytt fan who goes by the handle “Dynamite” is working on a multiplayer online version of Nifflas’s atmospheric platform game. You can read more about the project here.

Unfortunately, development of the game is being postponed until the holidays, as Dynamite grapples with one of indie gaming’s greatest foes, SCHOOL. How many promising young developers has this menace claimed? Oh, the humanity!

This sounds awesome. Maybe some little emotes for your Knytt?

It’d be fantastic if you could use user-made levels, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. I could be wrong.

    I hope I’m wrong.

So awesome. Knytt was such a great game, likely my most favorite game ever! This has a lot of potential.

  3. Droid said about 3 hours later:

    Old news.

  4. Golds said about 4 hours later:

School is simultaneously indie game development’s greatest foe, and greatest opportunity.

  5. Admiral Frosty said about 4 hours later:

My head explodes at the thought of working two player puzzles and exploration into Knytt.

    Explodes with joy.

I don’t see how it can be multiplayer..

Hmmm… it just looks like a glorified chat room to me. :\

  8. Quetz said about 8 hours later:

    Aren’t all online games?

Right now it looks like it because nothing’s been implemented. If you haven’t played the original game you won’t see the potential.

i hope you can bloody jump on each other.

No, all online games aren’t chatrooms. what on gods earth have you been playing?

(prepares to hear a list of MMOs and online card games)

I have some trouble imagining this as an online game as well… but then again, I didn’t see how Jet Set Willy could ever work as an online game until I played JSWO.
