iPhone developer Lazrhog has announced that he is planning on porting Kenta Cho’s abstract shoot ‘em ups, rRootage and Noiz2sa, to Apple’s popular handheld platform (with Cho’s permission). The games will be released via the App Store as free downloads in the next few weeks, and the source code will be made publicly available.

This is awesome news!
rootage source? yeah im gonna have my hands in that.
Gah. iPhone needs to start coming with a stylus. Or… 2 styluses. Fingers cover up half the screen.
♥
You would also need 3 hands I suppose.
Or you could just use your mouth to hold one of them…
How does the iphone compare to standard pocket-PCs? I’m suprised it has enough power to run them.
The iPhone has a 620mhz cpu (underclocked to 412mhz) and it also has 3D acceleration , so low-end 3d games will run fine on it.
I like how he put “PORTED BY LAZRHOG” in large letters just below the game’s title. Kenta Cho did not feel the need to put his name on the title screen, why did he?
And where did the cool white/light-grey background go?!
After watching the video, I can’t help but think the playability is probably going to be kinda terrible. Too hard to see your ship under your finger, and my eyes hurt from trying to see the bullets….
control really needs to be accelerometer based…
