Just a heads-up: Adventure Game Studio 3.0 was finally released last week. This long-awaited update to the popular game development program offers a host of new features, not the least of which is a totally revamped editor that has tabbed windows similar to Firefox.
So yes, if you needed a reason to start your big adventure game project, here it is!

Nice feature list there… hardware acceleration? Sweet.
I can’t wait for the next Yahtzee game. He pushed the last version to it’s limit, I’d like to see what he can do with it now.
Yahtzee’s games scare the crap out of me. So, yay.
AGS is awesome… ^^
What started out as a hobby has become a tool for some indie devs out there.
Gesundheit! (http://www.igf.com/php-bin/entry2008.php?id=240), one of the games nominated for the IGF student comptetition, is made with it.
Dave Gilbert (http://www.wadjeteyegames.com/), who made The Shivah and is now working on the Blackwell series, uses it even to make presentations about his games.
And Yahtzee (http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/, now known for his Zero Punctuation reviews) also started out there and still makes his games with it.
And there’s many more games out there that haven’t even made it into the indie world! You can always check them out at the AGS website…
Yahtzee’s been using AGS 2.62 (4 years old) rather than the more recent 2.72 for all his games, so I doubt he’ll upgrade to 3.0 either…
