Great news – Paper Moon has been released on Blurst! The game, which features lovely black and white paper cut-out graphics, began as a short demo for Gamma 3d, but has been fleshed out in a collaborative effort between IA and Flashbang Studios, and makes use of Blurst’s recently added online leaderboards. Big pimpin’ Adam Saltsman (Gravity Hook) was responsible for much of the game’s original graphics.

As much as I enjoy Flashbang’s games, variety is the spice of life and Paper Moon is a great addition to their growing arsenal of fun, Unity-based web games. I hope there are more collaborations on the way!

This is a nice expansion on the orginal Gamma version…but where’s the anaglyph 3d? I didn’t get these pro red/blue glasses for nothing!

Fun game! I like the different paths.. Although two are fairly similar, they’re still pretty neat. Music is great, and I really enjoyed the cardboard-cutout art.

@C-:

I haven’t played Paper Moon yet, so I can’t comment on that, but for the likes of Raptor Safari and Minotaur China Shop, an arbitrary time limit makes a lot of sense if you want to include a competitive scoring element into the game, like an arcade game.

I see “W” as basically being the same as “Up” arrow. What I’m allergic to is setting the button that would normally be used for ladder climbing to jump. (whatever that would be)

But, whatever. :)

“Flashbang’s experiment will test the idea that a small number of dedicated fans can provide large amounts of support. Costing $20 for six months, subscriber benefits would include downloadable versions of Flashbang’s browser-based games. Operating costs would be covered entirely by a mere 5,000 subscriptions, Flashbang calculates.”

I’ll definitely be getting this. I would much prefer download versions.

So am I, mate, so am I - you may recall my rants on the TIGSource forums about up for jump. ^^

However, this is by no means game-breaking (anybody recall 65 Million and One BC?); since you use “up” ONLY for jumping in the game you can get used to it (no biggie) - it would simply be nice if there was an alternate button to do it - perhaps BOTH “up” AND “Z” to jump?

Just my two cents - otherwise the game is top-notch and I dare say pretty innovative with the “pop” mechanic.

Haha, changing jump to up was Steve’s idea. The old controls were Space/Z to jump and X to pop, which I still prefer.

I was going to try to add a cheat code to the game to switch the controls around, but I couldn’t figure out a quick way to do it.

I think I’m allergic to games that use Up as jump or something.

Up for jump - whyyyyy? Ironically there even is an alternate “pop” button (X) but no alternative jump button… :-(

Well, JoyToKey it is then…
