Mtp Target is a simple enough concept: In most maps, the penguin you control rolls down a hill, goes off a jump, and then must be put into gliding mode (CTRL) in order to be maneuvered over to the target area, usually some sort of platform. Your first few attempts at Mtp Target will most likely result in frustrating falls into the water, but if you stick with the game you’ll be landing on target in no time.

As I got better at Mtp Target, I picked up on some strategies that reveal a more competitive aspect of the game. For example, instead of racing to the landing area, more experienced players will glide in circles until everyone lands and then zoom over and knock everybody into the water, proving that even the cutest of games can provoke vulgar (not to mention hilarious) exchanges of insults.

My main problem with most multiplayer games is how long it takes to start playing; loading, finding a good server, more loading, waiting for players to join, getting utterly ravished by people who devote their lives to playing, etc. So it’s nice to see that there’s an online game out there that doesn’t take itself too seriously and instead aims for a laid-back, quick experience.

See a trailer for Mtp Target after the jump.

fun game. simple yet with tons of variations it doesn’t get old. Its refreshing to see a game that removes all the tedium of usual games and gets right to the fun.

the only problem with this game is the people. there are some who speak another language so i don’t know who they are. but for every one i can understand they are either silent except for the occasional yes i made it. or their complete assholes.

theirs this guy name black metal that screams insults at every one while commanding a menwich person to bomb every one off the map. ITS LUDICROUS!

The first time I looked at this game, I thought “meh”. I’m not gonna try this, it’s stupid.

Today I tried. I have my final exam for university on the 1st of July, and I spent around - what? - 4 hours playing this? I had some company from folks who’d seen the game over here.

I absolutely loved it, it’s a great time-killer, and with the right people, funny stuff just keeps happening :)

I highly recommend it, though I guess some aren’t as burned out as I am to like this ;)

Having tried it out a bit, I really can’t reccomend this over the original Monkey Target minigame, if you’ve ever played it. The gliding flight model feels way less detailed/cool, and it’s missing variable wind and clouds as potential threats.

It has the potential to become as good as Monkey Target, but it’s not there yet.

Oh yeah: I got to agree, though, the trailer was fun to watch :)

(Also, I’ll go with less “quite” next time!)

I had played this for a short time quite a while ago and was quite disappointed by it. It is quite fun for a few minutes, but I didn’t see how it could last any longer than that. I was also put off by the locked content, a few seemingly uninteresting maps, which you could only get by donating 15 or so euros. It all just seemed quite unappealing for me.
I don’t want to speak too negatively about it, but it really made me wonder why a game like this seemingly has an active community, even if it’s rather small, while other, a lot more wonderful projects, just don’t.

Ha, this is an entirely shameless clone of the Monkey Target sub-game in the Super Monkey Ball series. Looks like it expands on the forumla quite a bit, though, and adds simultaneous multiplayer.

Guess I’ll give this a spin/roll/jump/glide.

The trailer gives me serious demoscene vibes too, which is nice.
