Happy New Year! Hopefully you all celebrated these holidays in grandiose style, because that’s just how I like to think Tigers roll.

News out of the way first, Mirror Moon and Revolve Translations have decided to simply merge together into the singular Mirror Moon which has had a slight thematical upgrade to reflect the move. Nothing major, but it looks cool and I applaud the move, since both were responsible for Tsukihime and their alliance ought to ensure more quality releases. On that note, translation progress is going very smoothly indeed. Unlimited Blade Works, the second route to ‘Fate Stay/Night’ is incredibly close to release, with mostly just the installer and beta testing to be done. Strategy RPG ‘Utawarerumono’ is getting a very confident thumbs up (Thumbs can be confident. I asked a scientist) at the moment, with the blog going so far as to say that they may just ignore beta testing and release it when the installer is finished.

And since I’m on a roll with the news here, more Type-Moon related news is that ‘Melty Blood: Actress Again’ has been announced for 2008, as a new installment to the Doujin Fighting Game Series. New features include three different fighting styles for each character (how different they are remains to be seen) and new characters including Riesbyfe Stridberg and Michael Roa Valdamjong. The Policenauts translation has apparently reached a few technical hurdles, but thanks to some joint work between that team and an earlier Tales of Phantasia team the situation seems to be slowly rectifying itself. Go fan-game communities!

That’s about it for news I guess. One thing I should mention is that Rz, is calling you out for a battle. That’s right, you. Take your hand out that biscuit packet, you’re not Megaman. You’re an Ur-Quan Master! Saturday 12th (this month) is going to be game night again, although this time will be a little different. Call it unofficial, or elite, or underground or whatever you want. I’ll instead be referring to it as simply; TIG TOURNAMENT! Registration will take place in the forums so I’ll put a link up when that’s available, just so that we can work out brackets and such. The game will be Star Control 2 which can either be a very large download or a very small one depending on what add-ons you’d like to have. Apparently ‘sound’ is considered an add-on here.

Feel free to comment, critique and all sorts, as most of this isn’t set in stone. What is definite though is that it will take place on the 12th and involve SC2, so if you don’t feel like getting your ass handed to you by Rz then I’d get practicing!

(Ghost Organisation by rz, because I sucks at that sort of thing. And, bonus TIGWear for Tr00jg in the extended!)

And as a bonus for Tr00jg;

It offers a +5 bonus to social stature, increases Ikiki Aptitude by 1200% and it’s machine washable, incase you’re interested. Unique Item I’m afraid, but it’s a 100% Boss Drop from me so quest if you want it! After all; Life begins at 40EXP!

I’d like to mention that there’s another translation of Utawarerumono going. The group is called Soylations, and they’ve got everything done but the actual installer… It shouldn’t be long.

Fair enough on calling it Ur-Quan Masters instead, to be honest I’m entirely new to it myself, it’s Rz suggestion.

Ah yeah, hah, that TIGWear thing would be awesome. Sadly there’s no plans I know of for official TIGWear.

Unofficial though…grins

When I saw the URL (ie tigwear-tignews-and-tig-tournament) I thought TIG was going to reveal TIGwear as in clothes and TIG merchandise. ie TIG-shirts and stuff.

Wouldn’t that be awesome?

Woot, Ur-Quan Master! Although you should, out of respect for the project, not call it Star Control 2. I know that’s what the url says. It’s just that SC2 is owned by accolade, Ur-Quan Masters is public domain.

Just picking nits here.
