You can now buy all three Introversion games (Uplink, Darwinia, Defcon) in a single bundle via Steam. The Introversion Anthology is normally $29.95 USD, but for the week leading up to Christmas, it’s only $20.00, which is quite a steal!

Introversion is currently working on Multiwinia, a multiplayer version of Darwinia, and Subversion, their official “fourth game” that somehow involves a procedurally-generated cityscape.

Sadly, this package doesn’t apply to other platforms. Each game is still $25+ for mac.

If you where going to include ground units in DEFCON, It would need to be a more tactical game IMO.

IV’s got up their own Anthology at their store now. Fair bit more expensive, but you can buy it boxed.

I also agree that Defcon was the ‘experiment’, but it’s definitely a great game. It doesn’t offer much more though than just the excellent atmosphere and a great strategy game, but all in all it still feels a tad limited.

If they’re ever going to make a sequel (and I sure hope they do) then I hope they will provide more units, perhaps add the option to invade countries with ground forces and so on. Expand the units and strategy options, but keep the graphical style and atmosphere. Perhaps add different kinds of nuclear bombs or bombs that affect large areas so ground troops won’t get through or get damaged. There’s a ton of possibilities even without resource gathering.

The original game itself is cool and yes perhaps those units we got were the only ones that would really matter in a nuclear world war, but I still think it’s a bit limited. //end rant, lol

I agree that Uplink is the gem, it’s a lot more fun for me than the other two. I already own Uplink though, so I have no reason to re-buy it and buy two other games I don’t really like.

Jean-Sebastien (Teafortwo), please send me an e-mail, when you get the chance. I’d like to resolve things with you privately, whatever your problem is.

(By the way, Darwinia originally retailed for… it was either $50 or $60 USD.)

A game sold for 30$, but at 20$ during Christmas?

Now this is what I call an award winning deal! Oh… wait… there is 3 games in there?

gone to buy it without looking twice!

I agree that Uplink and Darwinia were the gems and Defcon is the experiment - I didn’t like it although the atmosphere was quite stunning.

I have the boxed version of both Darwinia and Uplink - they are quite nice with postcards, posters and stuff.

Mischief Maker - Darwinia is different from Sacrifice although I agree that several concepts (souls, a more “direct” control over your units etc.) are similar. Sacrifice was great but Darwinia is worth checking out too.

Seriously, if you’re thinking of getting Darwinia, go scare yourself up a copy of “Sacrifice” instead. Does everything Darwinia does and more without the soul-crushingly slow pacing.

This finally gave me the push to go get a boxed version of Darwinia.

P.S. I think Uplink is the gem and Defcon is the interesting experiment, but whatever, heh. Looking forward to seeing if Darwinia is any good.

I’m looking forward to Subversion actually, definitely want to know more about it.
