The Crossing

The Crossing is another beautiful flash game from Ferry “Orisinal” Halim. Though many of the Orisinal games ramp up too slowly in difficulty for me, this one got it spot on. Gorgeous presentation and incredibly moving atmosphere.

This game is like a drop of dew falling on a baby bunny’s nose, waking him. And as the bunny shakes his nose, the dew disappears, and there’s a miracle to take its place.

I like how there’s no sound or visual cue when a deer dies. It’s just kinda like “oh well. so it goes.”

I couldn’t tell where the gap ended so the first thing I managed to do was send a deer plummeting to its death, it kind of killed the mood for me…

I wish i was a magic log. I would be able to do stuff.
But besides that, this game is nice for a while…

Man, Ferry Halim… I still go back and play Winter Bells, High Delivery, and Wake Up Call… can’t say I like this latest one as much, but you still have to respect his work.

I couldn’t help giggling every time one of the stupid fuckers fell.

It bothers me though, what exactly is the role of the player in this game? Magic floating log? Forest recluse breakout paddle?

But it teaches you an important lesson about what happens if the dew drop misses its mark!

Well, now I know what it would be like to play a Thomas Kinkade painting. I jest, but the music was a little much.

Missing one of the deer makes me feel really bad because it sure breaks the mood of the game to have one plunge to its doom.
