The website for next year’s Game Developer’s Conference is now live! Of note to indie enthusiasts is the Independent Games Summit and the addition of two new GDC passes geared toward that summit.
And GDC will be in San Francisco again this year, so feel free to stop by my house afterwards for drinks! (No, not really.)

IGF has now posted their full list of all
141 games that have been entered in this year’s competition! Don’t forget
to read the link in the article which runs down a
few interesting entries – fascinating stuff!
As a reminder, there is an upcoming due date for the IGF Mod competition. Get
your entries in by October 13, 2006 (Not that the date would be in 2007, anyway).

As kindly mentioned by Derek, The Independent Games Festival submission deadline is less than two weeks away. Please submit your entries before the 8th of September, ladies and gentlemen.
If you’re a developer with an excellent game in hand then don’t miss the chance to showcase your creation to the world, as these guys are the best at what they do.
Here’s the deal. Entry fee is $95 for the main competition, but if you’re a student then just send it in. No charges whatsoever! You can refer to this page for submission rules.
Finalists are announced on December 4th. Mark these two dates on your calendar, and good luck to all the participants!

The site for next year’s Independent Games Festival is now up! There are a few minor changes to the format of the competition. For one thing, the categories are now prefaced with “Excellence in…” instead of “Innovation in…” Which makes sense, since innovative but crappy games shouldn’t win awards, in this author’s opinion. (There’s a separate award for innovation, by the way.)
Check it out in all its sleek black and orange glory!
