(A Werewolf Thriller)
Vox Populi, Vox Dei (A Werewolf Thriller) is a fun flash game from Waremsoft in which you play a character on “a bloody quest to rescue the girl that hurt you from the hands of the planet’s dominant race: The werewolves.” Sneak by the werewolves and tackle them when they’re not looking—and enjoy the glorious blood effects as you mutilate them where they stand. (They seem pretty evil, so I guess that’s okay?)

Play Vox Populi, Vox Dei here, on Kongregate. (Requires Flash Player 10.)

The blood effects in this game make me feel fuzzy.

  2. AmnEn said about 2 hours later:

Interesting concept but the gore effects got old real fast.

it’s a shame that you can’t move while you’re killing a werewolf, being the game very frustrating at times, personally i think that it’s a very big flaw on the gameplay, even if it’s supposed to be a feature

which concept was interesting? it’s a mediocre platformer whose fx are overshadowed by the fact it takes a long time just to torture porn a wolf.

ace background artwork, but the killing takes WAY too long and the controls are sticky (btw, happy Mac owners, try Cmd instead of Ctrl); I’ve lost interest at the second teleporter screen.

  6. Dinsdale said about 10 hours later:

Visually wonderful but I don’t like any of the three sound effects the game has. Nevertheless, I find this a lot more entertaining and much less frustrating than the game below.

I enjoyed it once I got used to it. There were a couple of interesting puzzles and the tackling mechanic works well. The length was about right for this type of game, I think. The blood effect is kind of a gimmick and killing each wolf does take a bit too long, plus the plot is a bit hackneyed, but overall it was fun.

I had a lot of fun with this, but the ending was a bit disappointing.

I just wonder if ilkke (the guy who made the werewolf used in this game) actually allowed to be used. I couldn’t find his name anywhere.

The werewolf sprite is stolen from a pixeljoint member called ilkke

Well if I take anything from this game, it’s that prior to this point in life I didn’t realize how gratifying it is to tackle a werewolf off a building and onto the hood of a car

  15. Chris Zamanillo said 1 day later:

@Derp @pix Not really stealing if he credited that person (and most likely asked permission).

I thought it was fun and didnt overstay its welcome. Obviously you can only take one mechanic and a few simple puzzles so far.

  16. iLKke said 2 days later:

No, he didn’t ask for a permission. Not sure what to make of this :|

Guess I’ll just drop him a mail, saying that he should have asked for it.

  17. Chris Zamanillo said 2 days later:

@iLKke That really sucks, he gave credit but he definitely shouldve asked first. Despite the circumstances, your werewolf was awesome.

  18. nik said 2 days later:

well, you could always buy some fruit and vegetables with those credits!

  19. Jay said 3 days later:

hehe, nice to see the steam pipes from another world there !

even the style reminds me somehow of that gime.

    nice one.
