In semi-related news, Matt has announced he’s leaving the world of indie games to pursue a career in super science, going for his PhD in Astrophysics at ASU. Next thing you know he’ll have his own island fortress and army of spider robots and all that. (That’s what scientists do, right?)
Matt: You have been a consummate gentleman, and you will be missed! Best of luck to you, sir.

All iPhone games suck and this will be no different. Develop for something real instead of trying to cash in on a fad, faggots.
Super Science??
I wish he was my grandpa so he’d make a big robot and tell me to ride it to save the world from aliens.
…Super Science… The best of sciences…
Anyways that’s a pretty good lookin’ game for an Iphone game!
What’s with the voice acting? It sounds like the programmers just recorded themselves grunting. And those are some of the slowest and weakest punches I’ve seen. Punches in a real boxing match are often really quick. Is it just the IPhone’s framerate?
Not to mention, the animations are way too stiff, stances of the boxers are way off and those punches have horrible form and no footwork oncesoever.
looks good! only that the punch animations seems to be like in slow motion… and no i’m not referring to the slow motion ragdoll scenes
Also sorry I don’t mean to sound like a dick. I used to box myself and badly thrown punches are a huge pet peeve of mine. It really feels like they didn’t do their research or maybe it’s just that the iPhone sucks in the framerate and animation department. I don’t know.
This is very polished, too bad I’m not a fag who buys iphones and iphones games
It reminds you of Fight Night because it looks like it’s a ripoff. All the backgrounds in the arenas and gyms are right out of Fight Night 3. I played that game on 3 different systems and would recognize those backgrounds anywhere.
I really hope that I’m wrong….ripoff artists really piss me off.
Wow, so much hate in the comments. Anyway, well done guys. Yet another mind-blowingly polished looking game. You sure master the development pipeline. Would love to see you working on bigger projects.
We were definitely inspired by Fight Night when making the game – we’re not making any claims about wonderful innovations in gameplay here, and it certainly has a realistic aesthetic like FN.
Really, we were just interested in making a super-polished title that challenged our particular disciplines as much as possible and that pushed the iPhone to its limits. Adam is super-hardcore about character animation and content optimization, and I really enjoy programming within the constraints of a platform. We’re quite happy with what we accomplished (and even more so with our 1.1 update we just submitted).
I have every intention of taking over the world with spider-bots from an island fortress, which I will control with the Power Glove.
Your Power Glove is useless unless you know how to throw a good punch.
If he dreams of taking over the world, chances are he doesn’t know how to throw a punch.
Geist, do you even know what the power glove is? By the sounds of comment #10 you definitely don’t.
It’s not for punching. It’s a peripheral for the NES.
Of coarse I do, I remember using it in Punch Out. Perice of shit never worked. But if it did, I would have been unstoppable in that game.
Man, you guys are dicks. This looks like a cool iPhone game.
Sheesh, what a bunch of wannabes. This is a fine game! Go learn to code or something.
