Here’s a bit of GDC news that slipped through the cracks. The Area 5 guys (formerly The 1UP Show) made an excellent video special on IGF, highlighting a number of indie and student games. You can find the original post here. And if you’re not familiar with Area 5 / CO-OP, check out the rest of the site. They’re uploading excellent videos all the time. It’s good stuff, trust me!
They pretty much were the only ones that had any good footage/interviews with creators, sadly.
Before, at 1up, they used to interview a lot of guys; konjak, petri, fish, cactus, dylan fitterer, just talking general game stuff. It was super cool!
Sadly there isn’t really a big site anymore looking for the little guys, at least not in video form, so it’s good part of the old 1up crew is still going at it.
Alex - likewise, although you can see our booth in the background… but I did feel like we were outsiders at GDC anyway. Definitely not part of the in-crowd.
Was a shame they went to nearly every other game near us but missed Dyson completely. Great video though, thanks for posting.

They’re very good at what they do. I hope this is working out for them commercially so they can carry on doing this stuff.
well it better be, with half the show being ads!

that sikh dude was cool. nice to see someone of my fellow kin working in the indie scene.
also tag itself is awesome. i played it before when it was featured here and really enjoyed it.
I’m so glad the crew is still making videos. I always loved the show.
