    Toribash is one of those games I really want to like, but I can’t get past the initial learning curve of learning how every muscle in the body contributes to movement.

    @sinoth: Same here. If I look at all the cool demos, its just amazing. I guess if youre really good at this game its just a 3D Beat ‘em Up with a unique control. And my Pc cant handle the game to well ; P

    This game might sell because of those nice videos, but I bet people will get frustrated and end up not playing it because of the cumbersome and counterintuitive controls.

    I know I did.

    Interesting choice of platform, though. It’s not kid friendly, not even family friendly and not casual…

    Granted, I pre-ordered House of the Dead for the Wii, but even if I did understand the controls for Toribash, I don’t think I’d buy it for that platform.

    Unless they can find a completely new control method using the wiimote. One that’s actually usable by a normal person.

    QWOP!

    I still say they need to get a new typeface instead of that karate comic sans font Seanbaby used to use

  6. FNugget said about 5 hours later:

    The controls are simple, but the learning curve for using them appropriately is steep. Still, there are other mods which don’t have a steep curve. It’s a good game if you’re willing to laugh at your silly virtual man stumbling around for your first fights.

    Uh… I didn’t get nor like the game AND don’t think the vids of others playing it are exciting D;

    I guess it’s just one of those games…

  8. Kenzya said about 12 hours later:

    I’m with everyone else. This is a great niche PC game but will this really be welcome on the Wii? I got passed the learning curve and I played online for a couple weeks but dear god…

    The whole premise of this game is based on waiting. If you enjoy waiting for things to happen then you’ll enjoy this game. This is not a pick up and play title and as such I don’t think it’ll be very popular on the Wii.

  9. falsion said 1 day later:

    Toribash without keyboard macros/shortcuts would be a pain in the ass. Not only that, the Wiimote doesn’t make a good mouse replacement and this game requires you to be very accurate when selecting specific joints.

    I wonder how they’re going to get around these limitations, the video looks alright and I guess it looks like some of these things are addressed, but exactly how well?

    Then again the person in the video looked like someone who knew what they were doing.
