Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People: Homestar Ruiner

The first episode of Telltale Games’ Strong Bad game (for attractive people) was released yesterday, for PC and WiiWare. Titled “Homestar Ruiner,” the episode kicks off the all-new misadventures of Strong Bad, a popular character from the Homestar Runner cartoon. This episode can be yours for $8.95, or you can pre-order the entire 5-episode series for $34.95.

I haven’t tried it yet, but the 3d cel-shaded graphics look great and I’m hoping that Snake Boxer 5 is a playable Videlectrix game.

(Thanks, JimmyBignuts!)

TIGdb: Entry for Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People

  • Tanner

Snake Boxer is indeed playable. It’s in the demo.

  • John H.

I’ve bought and completed this. There’s some nice little optional things to find, one can play through just to complete the story, or one can search for extra hidden items as well.

Plus, after winning the game, one can go back into it and enter “Extended play,” looking for the stuff missed during the main story possibly finding new jokes and other extras.

  • Dusty Spur

Oh shiiiit. I totally forgot about this and spent all my money on Braid and Geometry Wars 2 :/

  • Bad Sector

Hehe, i liked the demo. I’ll probably buy it when i put some cash in my bank account :-).

  • Gainsworth

Yay! Had no idea it was coming out now. Gonna go get the demo.

Also, note how TIGdb’s tag section has been abused. By someone unable to spell Independent. Sad Face.

  • Inigo

Did anyone else have trouble with the sound in this? Every now and again it sounded like they were speaking with a mouthful of gravel.

  • moi

I love HSR, I would so buy this game.

  • Kenzya

I had no trouble with the sound.

Game was fun, stylish, and funny. A little short, yes. There is no cure for this problem though. I would have rather they released a $30-$50 game with 20+ hours of adventure time.

Unfortunately, this model works better. Being a downloadable title, and cheaper, it’ll sell more. In those regards, I’m happy because this game definitely deserves attention.
