I Was in the War

I Was in the War (direct download) is a simple platformer by Bisse, made for the current Poppenkast 3-hour compo. The central mechanic in this game is that you can hit “A” to flip across the red line which acts as a two-sided platform (“S” to jump). Pretty awesome concept.

Sounds like “the line”. :) First comment get!
Second! and the line is reD!
wohoo! another one that can’t be played with Vista.
Vista sucks.
But just look around, there are Vista fixes for Game maker games.
A is flip, S is jump! Got nuked at 19,016 – awesome game!
Wow yeah, where the hell did I get “N” from?
Very fun little game, I especially like that you can flip the sides while jumping. The first time I played it I read “Thank strike commence”. That felt nicely ironic :D
The seemless flipping also reminds me of the Half-Life 2 Mod “Flipside”, made by students of the danish DADIU. Definitely also worth a look :)
I don’t know Derek. My first play through, unable to flip, I felt like you were sabotaging our scores! 22420 - new nuke score. Anyone know the maximum possible score (points earned per second / seconds until nuke hits..) ? Also, try flipping mid-jump. Very useful, and looks cool ;)
My highscore is 22932. ^_^
Mine is 26672 ;)
Loving this game. The prize for completion is a nice touch.
