SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON (May 10, 2006) – RomeoPie Software® of America, Inc. and RomeoPie Software Europe Ltd. today announced the long-anticipated return of Diamond Rider™, a fan favorite since its original release in 1989. Developed exclusively for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Diamond Rider marks the first project from the recent acquisition of San Francisco-based studio, Drip Dry Software.
Diamond Rider delivers action-RPG thrills as a small band of Riders embark on an epic adventure to recruit allies, expose the enemy and prevent the annihilation of their breed. Delivering an intense and unique combat experience, players charge into battle on the backs of ferocious beasts or take their chances with the enemy while on foot. Fighting skill, wits and even magic are all called into action as players immerse themselves in the struggle to defeat an evil intent on enslaving the remains of civilization.
“Diamond Rider is one of our most treasured brands and is a complete re-imagining of the story that will take gamers on an unforgettable journey,” said Kyle Pulver, Vice President of Marketing, RomeoPie Software of America, Inc. “The vision we have for the remake of Diamond Rider is nothing short of remarkable and it can only be realized on the PlayStation 3 system and Xbox 360.”

wtf?
the Vice president of marketing makes me feel the sleaze HARD IN THE FACE! It’s total hype machine.
in addition a “complete re-imagining of the story” means they’ve copied the name and maybe taken a few pointers on the art direction, but your original game is gone forever
Is that a “readme” in photoshop format? Brilliant.
I’d go as far to say that it’s the best game I’ve ever played. The amount of freedom you can have in this game and free-form playing can gives you a different ending each time.
… of course, this is all a lie, but I just love how this prank was done.
This game got me pregnant.
Would anyone out there think less of me if I managed a score in the quadruple digits?
We would erect a shrine in your honor.
Is that an old skool Klik and Play Romeo vs. the Pie Devil allusion? Props. And I can’t believe I had the drive to beat the game, and that it actually had a concrete goal and solution.
This game made me get Brandon pregnant.
Holy crap, three different colored books with what appears to be a leather strap tied around them? WHAT ENGINE DOES THIS GAME USE?!?!?!?
Meh, I’m going to wait until it hits version 5.7a before trying this.
Who made the music? And what does it sound like played backwards?
I finished it, quite fun once you get the hang of it. It’s kind of annoying that you have to land on the ground before your 1200+ score is acknowledged, and you should probably be able to press OK on the end screen…
In short: GOTY.
the ®’s and ™’s make me sad :(
WHAT.
We are all just so clever in these parts. hur hur.
Eh, it’s a blatant Cave Story rip off.
…EPIC!
SHAWT THRU THE HEART! And you’re too late, you give loooooove. A bad name.
This is one of those GDC jokes that those of us who aren’t at GDC right now don’t get, isn’t it?
HAR DE HAR DE HARR i hate you.
TOO EASY
It’s no Pillar Killer.
I won!
It has monocles, it’s the first game with monocles that I have played in a 100 years.
GOTY
Nice to know that TIGS cares about their credibility.
Credibility? You’re just being a dick now.
There is no other way to say it… Simply the greatest game ever.
I have reason to suspect you stole the 2nd paragraph from the new Golden Axe they’re making. Why would they ruin Golden Axe in this horrible manner? WHY!?
sounds like a bunch of smoke & flowery words
Wow. I’ll be buying this one when it comes out! And apparently it’s going to be an MMORPG!
Of course, the artistic sense of it will be sucked out. Perhaps they can stay true to their original spirit, because the original is definitely better than anything they’ll come out with ever again.
And I remember Romeo vs. The Pie Devil. And the other games that came with Klik n Play… I hated that software. It didn’t allow much freedom at all.
But THIS game! It’s open-endedness in a box! With diamonds and wonderful gameplay, inspired soundtrack… oh I could go on forever!
Romeo vs. The Pie Devil is what started the “games as art” movement.
I think this is a bit highbrow for TIGSource
TIGSource has owlbrows. No implants here!

Does anyone have an ETA on when the self indulgent nonsense that has overtaken this site will be over?
Sadly, my friend, we do not.
