Honeyblaster

I personally found this game to be QUITE a lot of awesome fun to play, despite the initial inertia on your character that you play as in this one, and ohhh man, the Doom tribute level on Level 3 is the one that you DEFINITELY GOTTA check out and blow through for yourself… it is such splendid stuff and then some, so do not miss this great chance to download and play this wonderful game beginning with this link right here.

I like the graphics and the audio in Honeyblaster, but the gameplay and level designs seem to lack any real character :/

Personally I think if you’re going to have completely open-spaced levels without any environment to maneuver around, then the actual enemies, their patterns and their attacks need to be that much more diverse to keep things from becoming repetitive.

    Repetative looking.

Yeah, I second that, but it’s still a nice looking game.

    ! done ok !

Hasn’t this game been on TIGSource before?

So is this just a remake of the NES game Bee-52?

I think the bullets and enemies are way too hard to spot. I also agree with BenH on everything he says.

Also, where’s the autofire? I don’t see any reason for it to lack that.

Maybe it’s because the game would be easier than it already is, now that I think about it. I only died once because I didn’t notice the controls on how to use the megabomb.

Indeed the game has nice sounds and graphics, but the gameplay and design leave to be desired.

Wow, what a nifty suprise - this was done for a demoscene party.

The controls baffled me at first until I tried the readme.txt bundled with the game - it’s all in there.

a neat little game, but yeah the gameplay is a bit off. I feel like they dropped precise moving like most SHMUPs have in an effort for a more unique style of control, but it just made it a bit annoying.

Still, nice audio, pretty and interesting graphics :)
