Everyday Shooter Released (On PSN)

What if God made you a little glowing dot...?

Jon Mak’s award-winning “game album” Everyday Shooter has just been released on Playstation Network today, in full HD, at the low, low price of $9.99 USD. If you have a PS3, buy it immediately, I say! If you don’t, convince a friend to—Go in on it with them if you have to. (That’s what I’m going to do.)

Congrats, Jon! Can’t wait for the PC version.

Derek’s Update: Check out this Playstation “Personality Profile” on Jon where he admits that he recently bought five pounds of hash (browns)! Thanks, Petri!

oh and at GDC, running around moscone, trying to find mizuguchi, because i was convinced he just HAD to play the game. like a sacred quest.

he did play it in the end, much later.

so im going to heaven. so there.

  5. BMcC said about 1 hour later:

Haha, that is a an epic tale, Phil. :P

  6. fish said about 2 hours later:

  8. Jacob said about 4 hours later:

What’s your royalty rate if I do an entire concept album of just 60 minutes of an Everyday Shooter session.

Generative Music, Eno eat your heart out.

  9. edenb said about 4 hours later:

Electroplankton! Generative music right there. (As well as this, of course). Tried to create a few songs with it, sort of worked…

    Anyway, I’ll get a ps3 one day.

  10. !CE-9 said about 6 hours later:

congrats Jon, big up! and I’m seconding the PC-ist can’t-waiters. (why PS3 of all platforms?)

  11. Derek said about 7 hours later:

Congratulations, Jon! Can’t wait to play it again.

  12. colorFool said about 7 hours later:

Yay, awesome! As soon as this is out for PC I’m up to it. :P

  13. Petri Purho said about 8 hours later:

\o/ Congrats Jon! From my point of view PS3 just got it’s killer application.

I also enjoyed this. Funny stuff, the 12” TV on top of Design Pattern’s, running Heavenly Swords had me LOL:ing.

  14. Zeno said about 10 hours later:

    PS3 got a decent game???

Surely this is a sign of the end-times.

  15. Zmann said about 11 hours later:

    I love you Jon.

  16. Moose said about 12 hours later:

Congrats, but I’m still looking forward to the PC version. 300 quid is a bit much even for a great indie game ;)

  17. fish said about 13 hours later:

seaweed and hash browns is what gives jon his power. and flowing mane.

  18. !CE-9 said about 14 hours later:

    and friends with pigs’ blood.

  19. PoV said about 15 hours later:

Dude, those look like the “good” hash browns too.

  20. Terry said about 15 hours later:

I’m mostly curious about the seaweed. Seriously.

  21. Tondog said about 18 hours later:

I bought my copy. I want to see Jon roll up to IGF in an Escalade with ladies on both sides of him.

  22. PoV said about 19 hours later:

I’m mostly curious about the seaweed. Seriously.

The Torontonian (sea) weed smuggling ring. Seemingly ordinary dev-kit boxes filled to the brim with the finest (sea) weed in Canuckensteinia.

  23. Andreas said about 20 hours later:

Does anyone know when it will come out in Europe? This game is one of the reasons I’m actually considering to buy a PS3.

  24. Blueskied said 1 day later:

“The Everyday Shooter code has no 4s or 5s execpt in the combination of 54, or in very rare instances 0.5, because 5 and 4 are very unlucky numbers.”

Haha, some solid development paradigm. (see Petri Purho’s link)

  25. Anthony Flack said 4 days later:

Does anyone even know a friend with a PS3 to convince, though?

  26. BMcC said 6 days later:

Well, I do… But yeah, only one.
