Is there some kind of secret indie game developer hangout where people eat greens and strike up deals with major console publishers that we are not privy to?
The one thing I can’t stop thinking about with Braid is the main character looks a lot like a kid I knew at secondary school. Same little outfit and everything.
I am thrilled that this conversation is going in this particular direction, and will be searchable on Internet archives until the end of time, any time someone wants to look up my name.
There will be a PC version released. But it’s easier to do XBLA first, since that is a fixed platform, so it allows us to just get the game done without worrying about the huge array of compatibility issues that comes with the PC.
Rz, you’re not the only one. I love the backgrounds and think they’re stunning, but the way the sprites (dull, just dull) and some less detailed backgrounds clash just makes the whole thing look awful… In my eyes, of course.
Okay, just as long as there will be a PC version eventually. I’d hate for indie to migrate to XBLA en masse, which sometimes seems like it could happen.
OK - my comment didn’t get published because I used an apparently censored word (in a non-offensive way).
I’ll try again:

I don’t know if Jonathan Blow is straight or not but if he is then this comment is kinda disturbing. =)
The funny thing is that from this angle Jon Mak really does look like a girl, albeit with a flat chest. No offense meant (for the girl part as well as the flat chest part). =)
No, no, he’s making TWO cups levitate around him (look at the one on the right). Behold the power! Now we know that Braid with its crazy time-manipulation stuff is based on facts and has some autobiographical elements in it - author self-insertion probably. ;-)
No wonder the astonished look on Jon Mak’s face. :-D

Its called “my pants”.
fantastic news! a console i own! man, ive been waiting to play that game for a looong time.

AT Bill Gates, where can i have a re-fund for that useless crap called vista? LOL
(joking i will never buy windows vista)
I mean probably never or not in the near future.. lol
Rz: its one of those games you ahve to see in motion. its like a living painting. its absolutely gorgeous. stuff moves in subtle ways everywhere.
also, looking at that pic, i can only think that the guy on the left will soon have something published on wii.
such is the power of…that pic. you’re in it, you get published.

Yes man, you are.
I absolutely adore the art in Braid!
Fantastic!

That’s about it. Um… go XBLA
The green beans at that party were really good.
was that at lulu’s?
Nope, it was the Indiecade E3 after-party.
You can tell that thes two have just been having hot hot sex
…And then showered and got back to work.
You do realize that Jon Mak is a dude? =)

Just thrilled.
Hey I’m that guy on the left…
crosses fingers
your point being?
Oh geez, XBLA? WHY? The least you could do is a PC port.

mmm, green beans.
You don’t have to worry about the huge complexity of PCs, you just have to worry about it running on mine. ;)

first of all, they’re not green beans, they’re asparagus. awesome asparagus.
second of all, jblow is hawt. there, i’ve said what you’ve all been wanting to say.
third of all, stop looking at my boobs.
blow is a HUSTLER. i’ve seen him dance.
Can’t you see the LOVE in his eyes?
I just noticed that Jon Blow is making a plastic cup levitate above his head!

I guess I’m not the only one who thinks that the backgrounds in Braid look spektakulaar but the character art is pretty hum.
Ah, but who cares? JB is obviously some kind of design super-genius. High hopes for this one.
As my missus would say, Mak is totally jones’n to blow!
I found the characters to be a bit more endearing in motion then in screen shots.
Dan, are you talking about Braid, or the photo of Jon-Jon? :3
