Cortex Command - Test Build 18

Good ol’ Data brings us another free update to Cortex Command. The game looks better, feels better, and runs better.
When’s this man going to put out a “full” version so I can throw some money at him?
Here’s what you’re getting:
Much-improved player interface with adaptable pie menus. All relevant commands just two buttonpresses away!
32-bit video mode – no more palette corruption problems
Enemy spawns are now data driven… modders: fight against your own creations, just look in Activities.ini
Memory leaks massively reduced, can play long games without RAM being eaten, and overall memory footprint reduced
Several crash bugs gone and other glitchfixes(Thanks, Nikica!)

Yay, anyway, the game is still too fast to me on the new PC and I don’t know what to do ?!
I still think there needs to be a tutorial mode at somepoint just because it can be rediculously daunting to figure out what the heck you’re supposed to be doing. Technically it is simple, you dig for gold which you then spend on weapons and organic meatbags… or robots. Which are much cooler. Obviously.
Problem is that you don’t really get a space to play with that because when you’re trying to get used to what you have to do and -how- to do it, you have a clone/droid army at your gates, killing your younglings. Whatchagunnadoboutit?!
Great game though, definitely worth the effort of understanding it.
This game is awesome but really hard. I’m getting destroyed even in easy mode.
Word, Xander… but the way this gem shines already, our pleads will surely be heard, once this is going to be finished..
Eh I think I played build 10 or something but the controls were retarded and it was stupidly frustrating. But it looked shiny.
Joseph: Surely the game hasn’t improved at ALL since build 10… you should definately not play build 18, since that’s only given them 8 builds to work out any problems you had with the game, and 8 builds isn’t nearly enough.
The final will be p2p? Too bad :(
FireSword: I think you mean shareware and not P2P, becuase illegal downloading indie games is not cool!!!
Older versions were already fun in multiplayer, even with the screwy movement. It’s only gotten better since.
So is the movement still screwy? I won’t touch it until the movement is unscrewy, until that time I will play Knytt Stories…
Joseph: What do you mean, screwy movement? People don’t sink and put their feet into the concrete anymore, if that’s what you mean.
Nikica: I think FireSword meant Pay to Play, rather than Peer to Peer.
And how is illegally downloading indy games any less cool than illegally downloading commercial games?
Yes i meant pay to play… lol we busted you Nikica (joking).
So the final will be shareware… i thought it had been free..
Radnom: I think it’s not cool because all the profits go to the developer, instead of the middleman, so you’re majorly harming the developer who’s reliant on people buying their games instead of mainly publishing companies.
Lorne T: by screwy I mean walking and tripping and then flipping on my head and slowly killing myself with my own weight.
wait i’m going to have to pay for this? YARGHH my cortex boner is gone.
I played this with my friend from 2:00 AM to 7:00 AM
fun fun
