I don’t quite know how it works yet, but you can now build your own bunker in Cortex Command.

    YAY for test 15!

  2. Rz. said 29 minutes later:

it works like this (yes i’m bored): you place brain room with mouse, then select different pieces of bunker with a buy-menu interface (costs $$$), place them with the mouse, then you start playing. win win win

    Yeah, it’s grat, aintit?

Wonder if that ladder in the screenshot works…

  6. PHeMoX said about 7 hours later:

Anyways, awesome build 15 is ready!

  7. Data said about 8 hours later:

There’s some crash bugs in there… (damn all nightes make em creep in!) Sit tight for new build with fixes soon.

  8. Data said about 8 hours later:

Also, note that you can place without the grid assist if you hold down the placement button before letting go.

  9. Cas said about 9 hours later:

Is there a playable game yet?

  10. Koach said about 10 hours later:

Cas: download the build and try it - the game is still in development, but already playable.

  11. David said about 11 hours later:

For anyone who has played it, I have 2 questions:

    1) I believe some units (the robots?) are meant to fire back autonomously, but in the last version they very rarely did, making them useless. has this been fixed?

    2) 99% of the time the rocketship would crash rather than land, has this been fixed?

  12. -B- said about 11 hours later:

Excellent fun! This is gonna be wonderful when finished!

  13. axel said about 13 hours later:

It’s very playable indeed. If it only didn’t crash all the time, meh. Good thing is I’ve still got test build 14 on this computer.

  14. Munin said about 18 hours later:

They keep adding cute gimmicks but WHEN WILL THEY FIX THE GODDAMN CONTROLS thank you

  15. Joseph said about 19 hours later:

This game is really pretty but I found it very painful to play, like a really hot stripper dentist pulling my teeth without novocaine.

  16. -B- said about 19 hours later:

I think it has great controls now. It’s not platformer-easy-to-move-and-jump but it’s not meant to be. And shooting needs some practise too, which is good thing.

Physics will always be hard to manipulate. Physics will always be fun to play with. Physics own you. There is no spoon.

  18. BMcC said about 21 hours later:

    Barnacle…?

    Anyway, lookin’ good, Data!

  19. trav said about 21 hours later:

    TigSource ate my comment!

The Data Realms Dev Log comments are disturbingly enthusiastic, multiple exclamation marks and bodily juices flowing freely

  20. makeshifter said about 21 hours later:

munin@ next actually pay a good look to it. you can change the fucking controls in the menu.

  21. Lorne T Whiting said about 23 hours later:

Makeshifter: I think he was talking about mouse control, specifically, cuz’ it’s kind a sticky. (I still use keyboard controls, personally)

  22. Trav said 1 day later:

Munin might also have been talking about the general difficulty of movement in the game.

It’s not as easy as soldat or liero, he’s right, however I’m glad they added “gimmicks” like a corrected physics system, building your own bunker (which is a core game feature) and AI rather than reducing the entry level skill required to play the game…
