Where’s an Egg? is one of those silly little Videlectrix games. That is to say, it’s made by the Homestar Runner guys. You may want to play the game cold, as I think part of the fun comes from having no idea what’s going on.

Otherwise, check the extended for a breakdown of what you’re supposed to be doing.

The gameplay basically consists of going to various locations and asking people about other people and their belongings, especially the egg. I find it to be a beautifully simple simulator of what it’s like to be a Soviet policeman – you can afford to kill two innocent people as long as you catch the culprit with your third bullet, and if you fail, you get sent to a gulag.

    I shot one innocent, then shot the culprit with 827 time left. It was a fun way to spend three minutes. Of all their games, I think Thy Dungeonman 3 is my favorite.

    its even fun just to shoot ppl down. but only because they keep moving their leg so you know they are not really dead. i think lateron ill try and understand the system behind it. but on the other hand, im too stupid for soduko.

    Heh, did it by 910 on my first try. Made me laugh that I had no idea what I was doing though. I shot one person accidentally because I had no idea what the button did, and I shot another just… well, because I knew I had a bullet to spare. Neat little game, I like the idea of just having no idea what you’re supposed to be doing. In fact, had the game ever explained itself, it would’ve been crap. Interesting stuff…

    I think I got really lucky, since the 2nd guy I went to had the egg.

    He said he wanted a pencil, I asked him who had the pencil, and he said he did, so I shot him! Haha, awesome game.

    Videlectrix is just so darn classic. It knows its role and it’s limitations and takes it to an extreme that anyone can find funny. It’s true indy.

    In case you haven’t figured it out, everybody in this game either always tells the truth or always lies. So for example

    You go to person A who has a straberry You go to person B and ask who has the stawberry?

    If they say person A then you know they are a truth teller and you can trust them when you ask about the egg. If they say some random person C they are a liar and you need to question more people.

    It took me a whiel to figure out what ot do in the first time i player the game but after you know what to do you always get it in unde 950. my first time it was 894
