New PA Adventures Trailer

Posted by BMcC Thu, 07 Jun 2007 20:06:00 GMT

Here is the second trailer for Penny Arcade’s upcoming game Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness. And I have to admit… It’s looking much better.

“We sort of consider this one the ‘real’ trailer,” says Gabe.

I can see why. Though, the quick cuts are kinda annoying. I wanna see what I’m lookin’ at, ya know?

Anyway, this plus Ron Gilbert may just equal magic. Time will tell, I suppose…

DISCUSS, and all that.

I dunno.. could be decent. The intro is funny ;)

What do you mean? #2 is clearly the fake one.

Seems like Calling All Cars, same graphic styling and view. ps3 4 life

    Looks cheap.

The lighting is horrible. Keep the 2D cut scenes, add gameplay to those, ditch the 3D.

    Yeah, 2D would be choice… :\

    sigh

    Whaddaya gonna do?

  11. Radix said about 13 hours later:

Eh? That would make for a completely different game, and we haven’t even seen THIS one properly yet. It might very well end up not sucking, in which case I could not care less about how the triangles are lit.

At least it has cel-shading, that makes it look a bit more like the webcomic. And the Flash cutscenes definitely look good.

Well, this little teaser looks brilliant, kinda stole the Team Fortress 2 way of introducing the game, however the humor could make it really cool!

  14. CosMind said 1 day later:

leaving the commentary on the visuals aside - who’d’a thunk they’d create an iso beat-‘em-up for this license?

definitely a surprise to me. i figured it’d be a game more focused on integrating the comic’s strong writing and humor directly into gameplay. but, it seems like those elements are being relegated to non-interactive bits, instead.

but, (to quote BMcC) “Whaddaya gonna do?” i’m sure it’ll still tickle the fun bones of some cats out there.
