Fairy Attackers

Fairy Attackers has terrible scrolling. Every time you change direction the camera moves. Seriously, I ate three breakfast tacos before I played this game and I almost yakked them all up.
Aside from that, this is a fairly mediocre Wonderboy homage all the way around.

Yeah, I checked it out on Tim’s recommendation (which is rare - he’s usually sounds quite indifferent to 90% of the games he posts), but I was a little disappointed. I mean, it’s ok, it’s fun, it’s just not “brilliant”.
Bah, I’ll get over it, I’m sure.
For screen panning look-ahead, you really want to use some kinda dampened velocity magnitude from the player character to offset. So only if you build up a bunch of speed do you want to look ahead and/or/zoom out.
Of course, that gets painful if you care about more than one object in a game.
Who am I kidding? There’s a million different approaches to this which work. You only need to find one.
breakfast tacos huh?
Just the scrolling? I’d like to submit:
But it did hold my interest long enough to kill the first boss and get to some weird blue cheese-rock level. I might even go back to it despite the fact that I have no clue what anyone’s saying, or what the hell’s going on.
