Are you even ON the forum?!
(It’s only the Milestone Two Goals, by the way. But still… Exciting!)
Hahaha, and that screenshot isn’t even from Balding’s Quest!
That’s a concept for Arne’s Metroid project!
Well it’s just going to have to go in now isn’t it.
What is that? It looks like teh bestest game eevr!
Yeah, I was thinking
This looks like…metroid. >_>
heh, that title is confusing :) Otherwise BMcC went from merely posting milestones to completing them at ludicrous speed!
Haha, hey, I did the first one pretty fast!
I didn’t really work much on BQ during GDC week, though. :(

Tiiiimmm!
Look what you hath wrought!
(LOL)
Um I’ll uh help make the Japanese version OK! Unless there’s tons and tons of text, in which case I’d have to track down a native speaker to rewrite it and ensure it isn’t all HOW ARE YOU GENTLEMEN. Unless you want that.
Them Metroid graphics look like sex on legs.
SEXY LEGS!
WI’ TITS ON ‘EM!
@Shih Tzu: I think it would be super awesome if you could do that! There shouldn’t be much text at all.
How should I go about developing to make translating, and implementing the translation, as painless as possible?
Er, I dunno. I wouldn’t know the first thing about implementing it (I assume the developers would be the best at that), but for translating, all I’d need would be the text resources (in graphics or otherwise), info on character/line limits, and context if anything is non-obvious, I guess.
If the text is super-minimal and perfunctory (NEW, LOAD, SAVE, QUIT), you probably don’t even need a Japanese translation, as a lot of Japanese games use about that much English anyway. But if there are signs explaining where to go or NPCs saying wacky things it probably wouldn’t hurt. Either way you’ll probably want a translation of the manual (although that I would definitely need to enlist a native translator or rewriter for).
