Everyday Shooter Trailer

Still a secret and under wraps, the developer of Everyday Shooter has finally let out small bits and pieces from his upcoming abstract shooter in the shape of a preview video.
A serious IGF contender with three nominations, just one short of this year’s record set by Aquaria.

The Commonplace Book Compo is over!

That was one sexy fuckin’ trailer.
“What if god made you a little glowing dot”? I don’t know guys I am not sold on this one. I’m willing to believe the game’s a lot better than the trailer, though.
I define sexy as “guitar”, and ugly as “Generic Electronica”, by the way.
Oh, yeah, the music was hot. I don’t think the graphics translate well to snips of compressed trailer footage very well, though. And the clips were too short for me to get a good feel for the way the game reacts to the music, which I assume from context is a main gameplay selling point. I think there are some weird playback glitches for the last little snippet of gameplay in the video. Overall, not extremely compelling as a game teaser.
Hm… reminds me of Rez sans the rails. Also, musical sound effects instead of explosions and whatnot, I’ve done that before. In “Warning Forever” and “Mutant Storm” I gutted the original wav files and slipped in my own. All violin samples for one baddie, taiko drums and woodblocks for explosions, etc… And it worked super well.
So… A game made from the start with this in mind, instead of just making a soundmod for something already made… This is going to be a great game. Guaranteed.
Lumines… only a shooter.
Doom 3 was Pong… only an FPS
Looking to be quite a sweet, sweet game.
