Game Biz 2

Recently a game crossed my path that brought back some fond memories of staying up far too late. The game I speak of is GameBiz 2. And as you can probably figure, it’s a simulation game based in the game industry.
While the first game was limited into strictly developing games, this new version adds engine development and licensing, budget re-releases, and console development; in addition to the classic game development. Yes, the graphics are limited; but the gameplay is extremely deep and (dare I say it?) strategic. Of course, all this comes at the cost of a rather steep learning curve, so it may take you a while to fully grasp what’s going on; but once you do, a rather rewarding gaming experience awaits you.

The Commonplace Book Compo is over!

Interesting idea and one of those things people often joke about, especially in the industry “oh how about a game where you make a game developer and lol you have to run it, and lol you have to work countless hours of thankless unpaid drudgery to restrictive deadlines and have your interesting and original game designs slapped back in your shiny naive face by the money men lol”. It looks good (well, it looks interesting. of course it’s fugly as all hell) but unfortunately didn’t run on my machine for very long. Will probably try it again later.
Brings back fond memories of Software Star on the C64.
This game seems to have potential, but the GUI is horrible, and I can’t really see myself getting into it.
Ive been playing for a couple of hours now and once youi get the hang of it you are stuck. the interface isnt so pretty but the game is pretty much bug free and more importantly the game play is extremely immersive.
