Penny Arcade Game

Posted by Max Sat, 26 Aug 2006 12:37:00 GMT

ff_teaserrev File this one under “you heard it here second,” but Penny Arcade has teamed up with Hothead Games to develop their first title, an episodic little ditty called Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness.

No word yet on how exactly it will be distributed, beyond some sort of episodic “digital download,” target for initial release on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.

As Hothead claims to be an independent developer, it would appear that the boys behind PA have succesfully managed to avoid selling out.

In the meantime: Dear god, what has been wrought?

Wow, this game could really be good, shit, or anything inbetween. I’m excited!

  2. anonymous said about 3 hours later:

i don’t remember the last good episodic game from anyone. it’s just licensing, not an actual product from PA and the fucking fanboys bought it. suckers.

  3. Laco said about 9 hours later:

Wrong! RTFA. The PA guys are working with the devteam, it’s not just licensed.

From Kotaku: “We’re going to do all of the storyboarding,” he said. “All of the writing is already done. It certainly has the Penny Arcade humor in it. We talk to them daily about the process.”

  4. Dracko said about 14 hours later:

Too bad it’s a generally worthless sense of humour and storytelling.

  5. Cycle said about 16 hours later:

Yeah, I’m not looking forward to this one. PA hasn’t been funny for like… over a year now. They’ve also become far too casual for my tastes, I miss the times they talked about more interesting games. Like, anything that isn’t WoW.

  6. anonymous said about 18 hours later:

I can smell a fucking fanboy from a mile away.

  7. BMcC said about 24 hours later:

    Eh

  8. Lord Don said 4 days later:

God, everything just sucks and has been shit for, like, a year now. Nothing cool ever comes out anymore. People should just stop releasing games.
