Moonpod’s got another development diary up. This one is about the special effects in Mr. Robot and also storing data in games using XML. No sign of War Angels for a while… what’s going on with it?

doesn’t take much digging to find out about War Angels. two posts from the board

“Hi there, I’ve been away for a bit less than a month unfortunately, but I did a full days work on the game yesterday and should be fully into it shortly. I’ve thought out alot of cool developments whil I was away and I’ll be updating everyone about them shortly when I’ve implemented them Very Happy Also I’ve updated the status on the first post there, I should have been doing that more often but I kind of forgot about it.”
“Problem with deadlines is I tend to work by feel, and I learn so much stuff during the course of development it’s really difficult to predict where it’s going next. The game now compared to where it was a year ago (when I set that release date) is so much better and different than I thought it would be.
Last month I think I finally got on top of it and had a game, or the beginnings of a game that worked, was fun and I understood the direction of completely. Now I just have to finish it. I’m aiming for a good few months before the end of the year now,”
Yeah Hamish has been overwhelmed recently by external influences, but I know he’s raring to get back on top of things.
I always think I have it tough with Mr. Robot work, but at least I’m working with a programmer. Hamish does the art AND the programming!
Oh, and btw: Welcome Back TigSource! we missed you! (or should that be ‘Yu’ :) )
